A recent Planning Committee considered an application submitted by Tanner & Tilley Town Planning on behalf of Aspen Retirement Ltd for an 81 bedroom Care Home, 66 Extra Care Apartments and 26 Sheltered Affordable Apartments in the Town Centre of Bromsgrove.

John Montgomery, Operations Director at Tanner & Tilley, explained to the Committee that the Recreation Road site had been identified as a Town Centre Delivery Site in the emerging Local Plan and the proposals would make a major contribution to the regeneration of the town centre. The Aspen team had worked closely with Council Officers and other stakeholders  to achieve this objective.

Members were unanimous in their praise of the proposals which were quoted as being a superb development and just what Bromsgrove needs.

As well as providing much needed accommodation, including affordable accommodation for older people for the Bromsgrove and District Housing Trust, the development will contribute to the refurbishment of the recreation ground opposite the site.

Paul Trofimov from the client Aspen commented after the approval,  “ We are absolutely delighted that the Planning Committee voted in favour of the resolution to grant planning approval for this major town centre regeneration project and we very much look forward now to bringing it to fruition in association with our development partners and consultants team. It will provide much needed housing and specialist care accommodation for the older citizens of Bromsgrove and the surrounding area in what is a highly sustainable location.”
