Catherine Bartlett BA (Hons) MSc MRTPI - Associate Director

Catherine is an experienced and confident planning professional with a Master’s Degree in Spatial Planning and is a Chartered Town Planner and a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

She has developed a close and trusted working relationship with many of our long standing Clients. She is skilled in identifying the appropriate strategy for any planning application which frequently involves coordinating other specialist consultants on development projects

and handling contentious issues as part of Public Consultations.

Her previous experience as a Local Authority Planning Officer makes her ideally placed to provide sound planning advice for Clients and their development teams and to ensure that development proposals are appropriate for the site whilst providing optimum commercial advantage for the client.

Catherine is an avid competitive netball player and also enjoys the great outdoors with her family as well as catching up with friends over a nice glass of wine.


Matt Holmes BA (Hons) MA MRTPI - Associate Director

Matt holds a joint honours degree in Economics and Geography and an MA in Town and Country Planning. He is a chartered Town Planner and joined Tanner and Tilley in 2008 prior to which he spent six years in Local Government as a Planning Officer.

Matt’s mix of Local Government and Consultancy experience is of great assistance to Clients when advising on how to best pursue an application and maximise the prospects of a successful outcome. He is experienced in handling planning applications and appeals for all forms of development, particularly residential and commercial schemes. Matt always aims to maximise the development potential of sites and prefers to adopt a negotiable approach with relevant parties in order to minimise unnecessary delays and cost in the planning process for the benefit of the Client.

In addition to Matt’s Town Planning expertise he is also a licensed Code for Sustainable Homes Assessor.

Matt is active in his spare time and likes to be out and about walking, running or playing golf.


Katie Dodds Tech MRTPI - Planner

Katie has over 20 years’ experience in town and country planning. She spent 12 years in local government and during this time worked extensively in development control in Dorset. Since joining Tanner & Tilley in 2000 Katie has been able to benefit Clients by applying this considerable knowledge and experience to full effect, working on numerous planning applications and appeals.

Katie provides practical support to our developer and consultant Clients whilst working on a variety of commercial and residential planning projects.

Outside of work Katie never stops! She likes to ski, sail, scuba dive and is a keen swimmer. She recently took up running and has started to enter 5km races as a challenge with an aim to run a half marathon one day. She also enjoys a variety of arts and crafts and has two small boys to keep her busy.


Carlie O'Neill - Associate Director-Marketing

Carlie is Associate Director- Marketing and looks after all our Sales and Marketing .

As part of her marketing role she is actively engaged in all of our networking activity, building and cementing relationships with our Clients and within the business community. Even having been a recent finalist in the Dorset Venus Awards for her networking relationships and generating business for colleagues .

Carlie plays a key role in managing and co-ordinating Community Engagement and Public Exhibitions on behalf of our Clients.Carlie is responsible for all our advertising and marketing activity and has become a highly valued member of the team. 

In her social time Carlie likes to unwind with her Kindle, and enjoys taking long walks with her dog and her partner and dinner with her friends. Carlie has just started running and is taking part in her first 5k soon.


Barbara Evans - Office Administrator

Barbara is a valued and long serving member of the T & T team, managing the day to day running of the front office and is the first point of Client contact through our busy switchboard and for Clients visiting the office.

Barbara also provides all our team with invaluable administrative support, be it audio and copy typing, proof reading, letters or fee quotations.

Outside of the office Barbara is a keen music fan with a particular penchant for Newton Faulkner and the odd Gin & Tonic.


Gill Jackson FIAB - Associate Director- Finance and Administration

Gill has been with Tanner & Tilley since 1999 and is now Associate Director responsible for the handling of the Company’s finances, accounting, payroll and HR together with organising and co-ordinating office operations and procedures to ensure organisational effectiveness and efficiency whilst keeping the team on their toes!

Gill guides the team in their day to day workings and oversees all the inner workings of the Tanner & Tilley machine!

A keen fan of strong tea and biscuits, Gill loves all sport but is most passionate about football being a diehard fan of Sunderland AFC.
